HOW WE QC OUR BBs

First test is part 1 of a multiple impact test at 1.5j.
A good BB will deform but not crack., crumble or shatter.

Part 2 of the deformity test.
Inspection under a microscope checking for cracks .. no cracks visible, deformity only in the localised area of impact. This shows solid stable deformity free substrate.

Part 1 of the moisture test.
BBs are placed In the oven at 65C for 1.5 hours to test for moisture content . A bad BB will exit the oven cracked due to a build of pressure cased by moisture turning to steam on the inside of the BB .

Part 2 of the BB test.
From the oven into the crush test while still hot .
A good BB will break into a starfishe pattern without shattering or crumbling . A bad BB will crumble into pieces. Shown is a perfect starfish shape indicating perfect moisture content and stable substrate.

PART 1 of a crush test to check infill continuity.
The BB is caused to expose the internal structure.

Part 2 of a crush test to inspect the infill under a microscope.
Results of the test show perfect infill, no cracks voids or porosity holes.

Infill inspection .
A BB is cut in half cut to inspect the infill under a microscope. The test shows perfect infill !

Simple roundness / size test .
Calipers set at 5.95mm with a black dot on the BB for reference.
The BB is spun on multiple axis to see if it spins free.. if it binds on any axis it's a fail. A full CMM roundness test is performed by the manufacture.

BB surface inspection.
Several Alpha BBs under a microscope to check for surface finish and imperfections.
Random BBs are tested like this from every batch produced by Warhead staff before shipping.
